Most people use AI chatbots the way they use a search box: a few words in, a so-so answer out. The difference between that and a genuinely useful result is usually the prompt, and good prompts are boringly specific. They say who the answer is for, what shape it should take, and what the AI must not make up.

This is the first issue of the Mind the Hype prompt library: 11 ready-to-copy prompts for everyday jobs, from chasing an unpaid invoice to finally understanding how something works. Each comes with what it's for, the prompt itself with fill-in-the-blanks, and a tip for better results. We'll add more every month.
